“Eric and I have known each other for a long time and it was a great experience to finally make a record together; he’s a great musician and it was a pleasure to work so closely on this project with him, ” said J.J. Cale.

“This was the realization of what may have been my last ambition, to work with the man whose music has inspired me for as long as I can remember; there are not enough words for me to describe what he represents to me, musically and personally…I think it’s enough to say that we had fun, made a great record, and I for one already want to make another, ” said Eric Clapton.

Eric Clapton and J.J. Cale have recorded their first album of original songs together. The album’s fourteen songs feature eleven originals by J.J. Cale, one original by Clapton, one song by John Mayer and a cover of the blues classic “Sporting Life Blues.”

The album ‘The Road to Escondido,’ will be released on November 7th on Reprise Records. The two guitarists/songwriters were inspired to record an album of original material after performing together in June 2004 at Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas.

This comic strip reminds me of how my brother was describing the way his teenagers use their cell phones to message friends…constantly.
