This is so cool. SLOOH is an online telescope you can remote control from the comfort of your own chair. It’s two 14-inch telescopes perched on top of a remote mountain in the Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa. For $99 a year, you get unlimited access to the scopes, or if time is booked up, you can simply join in on whatever viewing session is taking place.
The interface even gives you sky conditions, time until next viewing session, and observatory time in UTC. Forget owning a telescope, this is just like the professional astronomers do it, from the confort of their laboratory or study, any time, night or day.
